Below are opportunities to work with Blooms one-on-one, whether you’re a new writer or more experienced. This page will be updated as more options become available in the future. If you have any questions about the services below, feel free to reach out to Blooms via the contact form.
Hourly Mentoring*
Cost: $45 per hour.
Description: The one-on-one, pay-as-you-go, mentoring service is scheduled one hour at a time. Mentoring sessions may involve brainstorming, problem-solving, and informal discussions about portions of a work-in-progress. Writers have the option to schedule more meetings, if desired, at the end of each meeting. Payment is required in advance of each meeting with the mentor.
Manuscript Review*
Cost: $75 per hour.
Description: Provides holistic review, written feedback, critique summary, and detailed review/beta-reading of a completed manuscript. This option does not provide one-on-one interaction or meetings, but that can be added by pairing the manuscript review services with the hourly mentoring services above. Payment is required in advance of each meeting.
Author Academy Mentoring*
Cost: $5,500.
Description: A 9-month student-driven certificate program that provides writers with the support to grow rapidly in their craft and to prepare their work for publication. The Author Academy is open to adult writers of all genres and experience levels. The study year runs from September 1st to June 1st. Over the course of the program the mentee will receive 75 hours of one-on-one mentoring, access to Carnegie Center classes, advanced writing seminars, discounted fees for Master Classes and The Poetry Gauntlet, two weekend day retreats, free registration to the Carnegie Center Books-in-Progress Conference, and free consultation with a literary agent at the Books-in-Progress Conference.
